Skoda Auto India will open bookings for the Kylaq today (December 2) from 4PM. The company also announced the variant-wise prices of the Kylaq. The base trim of Skoda’s first sub-4 metre SUV has been priced at Rs 7.89 lakh (ex-showroom). Deliveries for the Kylaq will commence on January 27, 2025. Skoda also said that the first 33,333 customers will get a complimentary 3-year standard maintenance package.
The Skoda Kylaq is offered in four variants — Classic, Signature, Signature+ and Prestige. Below are their prices (ex-showroom).
Skoda launched its first sub-4 metre compact SUV, the Kylaq, on November 6. Skoda has entered the fiercely highly compact SUV segment. The Kylaq will rival models like the Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Kia Sonet, and Mahindra XUV 3X0.
Skoda also introduced a membership program for compact SUV on November 15, named the Kylaq Club. The program was designed to engage potential buyers and support them throughout their journey, from booking to purchasing the Skoda Kylaq. Registrations for membership were closed on November 30.
Powered by a 1.0-litre TSI petrol engine producing 115bhp and 178Nm of torque, the Kylaq comes with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic. Skoda claims that the Kylaq can reach a top speed of 188kmph and accelerate from 0-100kmph in 10.5 seconds with the manual transmission.
In terms of dimensions, the Kylaq is 230mm shorter than the Kushaq. The Kylaq measures 3,995mm in length, 1,783mm in width, and 1,619mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,566mm, which is 85mm shorter than that of the Kushaq and a ground clearance of 189mm.
The Kylaq’s interior closely resembles that of the Kushaq, featuring a similar design with identical air vents, touch-based climate controls, an 8-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 10.1-inch central infotainment system supporting wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The compact SUV comes with six-way electrically adjustable and ventilated seats for the driver and front passenger, a segment-first feature.
The Kylaq features a single-pane sunroof, keyless entry, wireless smartphone charging and integration, as well as a cooled glove box. Select variants get cruise control, and steering-mounted paddle shifters with the six-speed automatic. Leatherette seats are available, with a choice of single or dual-tone interior design.
In terms of safety, the Kylaq comes with over 25 active and passive safety features as standard. These include six airbags, traction and stability control, anti-lock braking system (ABS), electronic brake distribution (EBD), brake disc wiping, rollover protection, motor slip regulation, electronic differential lock, passenger airbag deactivation, multi-collision braking, ISOFIX child seat mounts.
The Kylaq is built on Skoda’s Modern Solid design language, first seen on the Skoda Elroq, boasts striking character lines throughout. It features a glossy black grille with 3D ribs, departing from Skoda’s traditional radiator grille. The front design includes a lower spoiler with aluminium accents and a fascia that seamlessly integrates LED DRLs with the black grille element, while the headlamps are positioned lower on the front. Leading its segment, the Kylaq offers a boot capacity of 446 litres.
